Biography

Clare Cutler joined Bournemouth University Dementia Institute (BUDI) in May 2012 as a Research Assistant and a part time PhD student in October 2012. In July 2013, Clare became BUDI’s Project Manager. Clare has been involved in many research projects which have included; Dementia Friendly Communities, Dementia Friendly Tourism, Gateway to Rural Initiatives in International Dementia, the Technology Club, the Tech Club and the Intergenerational Technology Club. Clare’s doctoral research is investigating the benefits of a technology group on the quality of life for community dwelling people with dementia. Other dementia research interests include: pubic engagement and impact; obtaining the voices of marginalized groups; veterans and dementia and leisure and recreation in dementia. In addition to research, Clare has also worked on and delivered many public engagement events, workshop, seminars and consultation events.

Research

In addition to research, Clare has also worked on and delivered many public engagement events, workshop, seminars and consultation events.

Alongside dementia research and her PhD studies, Clare’s interests include UK and world heritage, history and archaeology. These interests and skills have been combined in a number of BUDI projects which have fused heritage with dementia such as the Tales of the Sea project and the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) workshop.
