Abstract:

Whilst disability technology is primarily created to help facilitate activity, sports technology is ultimately intended to maximise performance. The implications of such technology used by elite athletes have historically caused some controversy. It is investigated what specific issues can be created by the inclusion of prosthetics technology in elite disability sport through the use of case studies.
