This paper explores the development of the relationship between sports agents and their clients in professional rugby union. Focusing on the British market in particular, it seeks to understand how the relationship is balanced, what impact external factors can have and overall the role of such partnerships in the future. Central to the study are the concepts of ‘theory of agency relationships’ and ‘collaborative interorganisational theory’.
