Abstract:Information systems projects in the ‘real’ world continue to have a poor success rate. Industry-collaborative student projects seem to have no greater success - so do such projects socialize students into project failure? This paper looks at the conflict between learning and performance that crystallizes at the point of assessment. The impact of assessing reflective material is discussed and the role of double-loop learning in project performance is explored.
