Abstract:

This paper presents a review onGreen Tribology, which is relatively a new area of research for tribologists and environmentalists. An attempt has been made to summarize the fundamentals of this emerging area for its future development. In this article, various aspects of green tribology from mechanical system point of view have been discussed. The paper is structured to focus on Sustainability and Energy, Life Cycle Assessment and Lubrication aspects of Green Tribology. The recent advancements in green tribology to a great extent are expounded in this article. These aspects may lead to a strong foundation of further developments in the area of green tribology.
