The song “Oh I do like to be beside the seaside” written in 1907 by John Glover-Kind was a popular in music halls as seaside towns became more accessible via railways. A century later it retains a place in story of going to the seaside.
The Bournemouth University's Faculty of Health and Social Sciences' Narrative Group use creative approaches to understand more about the lives of people in the community, which informs the education of health and social care students and professionals.
And so we asked, "Why do you like to be beside the seaside?"
