Research

Guy is a former radio practitioner whose PhD focused on balance and bias in the BBC’s 1997 general election coverage on its flagship news and current affairs programme, Today. His publications include Radio in Context (Palgrave Macmillan 2004; second edition 2013), Balance and Bias in Journalism: Representation, Regulation and Democracy (Palgrave Macmillan 2007), Radio Journalism which he co-authored with Professor Andrew Crisell (Sage 2009) and Local Radio, Going Global (Palgrave Macmillan 2011; paperback edition 2015).
