Abstract:

The aim of this paper is to describe the landform-sediment distribution within the northern part of the Highland ice-field, which existed in the Scottish Highlands during the Loch Lomond Stadial or Younger Dryas. Strong spatial variations in the distribution of both subglacial and ice-marginal landforms are described. The role of geology and variations in the dynamics of this former ice-field are discussed as possible explanations for the observed patterns.
