Abstract:

This article examines why post-delivery personal hygiene care is often delegated to the auxiliary and determines if there is any difference in the care offered by the midwife and auxiliary. The study found that midwives viewed personal hygiene care in the immediate post-delivery period as part of their role but felt that it was an area that could be easily delegated when the pressure of work dictated.
