Abstract:

There is concern that gains achieved in embedding geriatric medicine within the undergraduate curriculum are in actual or potential danger of being lost.

Relevant factors include: the change from a specialtybased to a thematic course, a greater amount of time being devoted to student-selected options and the perceived withdrawal of academic geriatricians from teaching.
