What we teach about when we teach about creativity
Conference: Assessing and evaluating creativity for undergraduates in Media Studies and Art & Design
Dates: 28 February 2013
Creativity is only rhetorical, but that doesn’t mean we should dismiss it - there are other solely rhetorical constructions that have very real effect and impact. ‘Love’ for example - it’s existence is inferred through what people say and do. It is assumed to be an essence, yet it is always, inevitably normative.
So what do we do with creativity, that recognises its power and impact as a concept, yet challenges the notion of an essence?
