The needs of senior nurses and their teams in liaison psychiatry.

Nurses make up the single largest professional group engaged in liaison mental health care.

This workshop aims to bring together senior nurses and nurses from across the UK to discuss: 1. The needs of senior nurses working in liaison mental health care.

2. The national needs of liaison mental health nurses working within liaison psychiatry.

We envisage that the discussion may include but will not be limited to topics such as:

* Workforce planning and development, including mentoring, competency gr.

* Education for liaison nurses * Research involvement in liaison psychiatry * Senior nursing roles and support needs at a local and national level * Planning a national liaison nursing PLAN conference.

* UK networking for liaison mental health nurses.

Due to the national variation in liaison nursing roles, grades and responsibilities we have not specified what a senior nurse is and would welcome participation from nurses at all levels and across all types of liaison services.
