Copyright © 2015 by ASME. This paper focus on the design of 6-DOF parallel manipulators. By investigating the incidence relation between inputs and outputs of the 6-DOF parallel manipulators, a design method for 6-DOF parallel manipulators is proposed. Using the method, a new 6-DOF type is obtained. In the future, a prototype will be manufactured to study the relative performances under the guidance of the proposed methods.
