Biography

Dr Jaeyeon Choe is a senior academic at Bournemouth University, UK. She is an acting programme leader and dissertation coordinator in the Events and Leisure Marketing degree program. She obtained her PhD in Tourism Management with a minor in Cultural Anthropology and concentration in Cultural Geography from The Pennsylvania State University. Her research areas are spiritual/religious tourism and leisure, migrant and refugee well-being and sustainable community development. She has been invited as a visiting scholar to Canada, Germany and Thailand. She is a committee member for the Geographies of Tourism and Leisure Research Group of the Royal Geographical Society. She serves as an associate editor for the e-Review Tourism Journal.

She supervises PhD students in the fields of leisure and tourism, focusing on spiritual well-being and religious tourism.
