I have had a substantial clinical career working within the NHS, working as a Senior Sister in both care of the elderly and rehabilitation settings, within different NHS Trusts. Since 2001, I have held positions as a Lecturer Practitioner and currently as a Lecturer in Adult Nursing. My specific areas of interest and expertise are supporting students in practice settings, practice assessment, quality assurance and enhancing nurse education. I am passionate about nursing practice and the delivery of high-quality, humanised nursing care.

My PhD focuses on practice assessment The aim of the study is to gain a deeper understanding of the assessment experience in nursing from both the students’ and mentors’ perspective within the context of the clinical setting.
