I have been the Unit Leader for Family Law at Level 6 on the LLB course for 13 years at Bournemouth University.
My current areas of interest for Research relate to Family Law and Family Mediation.
My PhD research is a comparative study of Family Mediation practices in France and England, with the aim to develop and enhance existing Family Mediation models and increase the effectiveness of the Family Justice system.
I am also a qualified and practicing Family Mediator and Member of the Family Mediation Association working towards my accreditation.
In collaboration with local Lawyers, Judges, Arbitrators, Mediators, Financial Advisers and the involvement of students, I have organised very successful Family Law Symposiums at Bournemouth University showcasing, through role-plays, the different options which are available to families to resolve their disputes.
I have also delivered courses in Contract, European Law, English Legal System to Foundation Degree students through to Undergraduates and have been a Unit Leader in Equity and Trusts on the GDL course at Bournemouth University and Guernsey...
Other roles have involved being a Level 4 tutor, currently academic adviser, Pal coordinator for FMC and academic staff PGR Representative.
My extensive teaching career started delivering French and German in Grammar Schools and Colleges of Higher Education, Adult Education in London, Bristol, Exeter, Bournemouth.
For the past 16 years, I have also taught French at Bournemouth University, firstly to adults for PACE and then developed French courses for Professional purposes in the School of Tourism. I am currently teaching French to BATM students in the Faculty of Business and Management.
