Biography
Jens Mohrenweiser has a wide experience in research, teaching and consulting in employment relations, personnel economics and HR analytics. He received his PhD from the University of Zurich (Switzerland) and has been working at a think tank in Mannheim (Germany) before joining BU.
Jens’ research interests are in further training, institutions of employee voice and firm productivity. His work mainly comprises analysing big data, administrative data and survey data. His research in further training is mostly around the motivation of firms to invest in skills of its employees and identifying the internal and external environment that facilitates company-sponsored training. His research in institutions of employee voice focuses on the role of works councils and other forms of employee representations on firm productivity and the mechanisms how employee voice institutions can improve firm-level outcomes. Finally, he investigates the productivity of firms, in particular how HR practices, voice institutions and training arrangements interact to improve firms’ productivity...
Jens is also programme lead for the MSc Management with Business Analytics and is leading projects investigating firm data to understand employee performance and to improve the HR analytics.
