Raced and gendered discrimination in the workplace is deeply entrenched, pervasive and persistent. Much of the research focuses on the impact of inequality on women of colour. However, understanding the complexities and contradictions in the behaviours of individuals that discriminate can advance the cause of race and gender equality. This article - a preview of a more in-depth forthcoming paper advances new perspectives on discriminatory practice that goes unnoticed and unchallenged in the workplace.
