Abstract:

In this chapter, the questions concern the rethinking of the teaching side of law schools. Already, there has been much rethinking about how teaching is delivered (with new technologies being extensively relied on) but the curriculum and, concomitantly, the sense of what it is to think like a lawyer as well as our understanding of the basic legal skills, has stood still. Accordingly, the argument in this chapter is that there needs to be an urgent debate about a curriculum that maps onto the new legal landscape (as sketched in Ch 3) and the role that technologies increasingly play in delivering legal services and performing legal and regulatory functions (as per Chs 7-9).
