Biography

As a PhD researcher in the Department of Media and Journalism, Faculty of Media and Communication at Bournemouth University, my research interests are centred on the intersection of gender, arts, and communication. Prior to BU, I successfully attained an MA in Illustration and a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design from Arts University Bournemouth.

My professional background encompasses a range of experiences. In addition to my role as an Employment Advisor collaborating closely with the National Probation Service in the UK, I have previously held a position at Arts University Bournemouth, where I provided support to Higher Education (HE) students in their academic journey. I have recently undertaken the role of Research Assistant under the supervision of Professor Anna Feigenbaum and Dr Lyle Skains at Bournemouth University, actively contributing to the research project, entitled ‘Strength Training Instructional Project’. My role involves conducting visual investigation on underrepresented bodies and creating illustrated concept sketches aimed at exploring alternative approaches to representing bodies for more inclusive strength training.

Research

My practice-based research, entitled ‘Visualizing Gender Futures: Exploring Gender Diversity and Inclusivity in the Workplace Through Creative Drawings’ and investigates the utilization of creative methodology to explore gender and inclusivity in professional settings. Drawing upon the practice of illustration, my research integrates theorical frameworks concerning gender within diverse academic, social, and cultural contexts. The overarching objective of my investigation is to enhance institutional workplace comprehension and capacity in disseminating knowledge, empowering individuals, and educating employees for greater gender fluidity and equity.
