Abstract:

Bhima is the second of the five Pandava princes, a mighty warrior who is never given his due by the world. To everyone, including his own brothers, he is the 'blockhead', the 'idiot'. Even the delectable Draupadi, the queen the Pandavas share, treats Bhima with affectionate contempt. But when their cousins cheat them out of their kingdom and enforce a 13-year exile, it is to the 'idiot' that everyone turns. In this retelling of the Mahabharata, it is the 'idiot' — torn between his love for a forest woman and fierce loyalty to his brothers — who wins the crown for his family. I Who Killed My Brothers is the Mahabharata reinterpreted for the new generation. It tells the story of the feud between the Pandavas and the Kauravas — and the 18-day Kurukshetra War to end it.
