Abstract:

There are few minority ethnic groups in the UK that have come under the levels of political and media scrutiny that the wider Muslim community have experienced in the past decades, particularly in relation to the family, and especially in terms of the transitional years leading from adolescence towards young adulthood. This carries implications for social work practice in relation to work with Muslim families in a culturally sensitive fashion.
