Abstract:

I am pleased to write a forward for this anthology of psychosocial essays which examines the experiences of lockdown during the COVID-19 Pandemic in 2020 in the UK. The idea for this book first emerged following a series of workshops that were held over the summer months of 2020 by staff and students on the Psychosocial Studies BA programme at the University of East London. The aim of these sessions was to discuss and work through the events as they unfolded, to share with each other the various experiences of fear and bewilderment that emerged during that period as a response to the new COVID-19 environment.
