Abstract:

Developing and implementing effective measures to prevent and intervene with harmful alcohol use remains imperative if we are to reduce the global burden of alcohol-related harms and improve the lives of those affected. This chapter explores and appraises the effectiveness of electronic brief interventions that deliver personalised feedback. The ability of personalised feedback interventions to change behaviour, the challenges facing the field, and the possible mechanisms for change are considered. The chapter concludes with a discussion of future directions for research and implementation.
