Abstract:This chapter and the accompanying list describe the fish species recorded in Poole Harbour over five decades (1970–2020). It also describes, where known, why these fish occur in the harbour, what affects their presence, their distribution and what period of the year they are seen. It is accepted by the authors, due to the difficulties of observing fish as explained later in this chapter, that there may be significant omissions in the information presented here.
