Abstract:

This chapter examines organisational evidence regarding the visibility of LGBTQ+ migrants in the workplace by emphasising the intersectional barriers to inclusivity and diversity. I evaluate how workplace policies and practices fail to address the complex challenges faced by individuals navigating overlapping/multiple marginalised identities in the workplace, and how sectors address the intersectional needs of individuals who navigate both LGBTQ+ and migrant identities. The evidence demonstrates significant disparities between institutional diversity commitments and documented workplace practices, but organisations show limited recognition of how migration-related precarity compounds discrimination experienced by LGBTQ+ employees. This evaluation contributes to a scholarly understanding of institutional approaches to complex intersectional inclusion while offering evidence-based recommendations for policy development and implementation.
