Abstract:

This paper proposes a new position specific scoring vector (PSSV) based approach for wind speed prediction. The approach involves computing position specific scoring matrix (PSSM) first.The PSSM matrix is collapsed to a PSSV vector for compact representation. The PSSV vector is then used to pre-process a data set into training data set. The approach is tested on wind speed data set which has 3100 training examples and 144 testing examples. The results indicate that the proposed approach of using PSSV produces improved results.
