Health Law in Wales: Teaching Values, Ethics and Law

Abstract:

This session outlines the goals of HEAL, a collaborative project between health law researchers at Cardiff University, teaching professionals, and learning experts, to develop materials to support implementation of the Curriculum for Wales (CfW), the most significant innovation in teaching in Wales for three decades. Health law and ethics is the focus for key debates about values, policy and governance in contemporary society, and can provide the basis for lively and innovative teaching materials for students in Wales. This session will outline the goals of HEAL, materials co-produced with Fitzalan High School, and evaluate student feedback on a pilot, suggesting next steps for teaching health law and ethics in Wales.
