Biography
Connor Wicheard is a Lecturer in Sport Performance Analysis at Bournemouth University with extensive experience in elite sport. He has supported Team GB across three Olympic Games, a Paralympic Games, and multiple World and European Championships in modern pentathlon.
His professional background includes leading data strategy, performance insight, and decision-support projects across national sport systems, connecting data, coaching, and sport science to support performance in high-pressure environments.
Connor’s developing academic and knowledge exchange interests focus on data-driven decision-making in sport, applied performance analytics, athlete monitoring, and the translation of complex data into accessible, meaningful insights for coaches, athletes, and organisations.
He is passionate about bridging the gap between applied practice and academia, helping people and organisations use data more confidently, effectively, and impactfully.
