Abstract:The1x1project was commissioned as part of the 5x5 project, developed in order to commemorate the Centenary Celebrations of the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington DC. Commission followed working on artist proposals with our curator Steve Rowell who was then selected in an International competition by the DC Arts and Humanities Commission in Washington DC for his program. Other selected artists included International practitioners from across the US and Internationally.
