Aura: A holographic brainwave interface at V&A Digital Futures

Authors: Gingrich, O., Renaud, A. and Emets, E.

Dates: 9 July 2018

Abstract:

Aura investigates the relationship between spirituality and technology. When Roy Ascott asked whether there is love in the telematic embrace (Ascott 1989), he questioned technology’s role in empathy. Aura presents a holographic brainwave interface that represents brainwave activity on a Pepper's ghost screen device in real-time. The artefact provides the audience with a live representation on their personal engagement with the art piece.
