Biography
I am a Unicef Baby Friendly Initiative lead midwife practising in Dorset and currently in my last year of a 4 year clinical Phd studentship.
Research
My topic for my PhD is exploring the thoughts and feelings of maternity staff regarding the implementation of Unicef's Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI) into a maternity unit. The BFI is something that maternity staff adopt into their practice to ensure that evidence based infant feeding care is provided to all maternity service users.
My research methodology is qualitative with a grounded theory approach to data analysis and synthesis. Methods for data collection included semi-structured interviews and observation with a variety of maternity staff.
I am currently in the process of data analysis, synthesis and developing themes.
