Surface reconstruction using PDE can be described as solving the PDE to generate the reconstructed surface of an object of interest. This paper provides a brief introduction to the process of surface reconstruction, partial differential equation and its application in surface reconstruction, as well as summarizing several works that utilize this approach. This paper also outlines the validation method used to assess a reconstruction model.
