Abstract:

Seasonally frozen river ice known as Aufeis or Naled occurs widely in front of high-arctic glaciers. It has a significant effect on the processes of sedimentation which occurs on the outwash surfaces in front of such glaciers. This paper contains a case study from Pedersenbreen in Svalbard which examines the processes and products of sedimentation on Aufeis modified outwash.
