Abstract:

The four most widely used techniques for measuring soil erosion are reviewed and evaluated in order to assess whether they fulfil the needs of a postgraduate research project. These include erosion pins, erosion frames, sediment traps and coloured stones. These are then discussed in relation to a newly developed profiling device that is equally accurate at measuring erosion but is cheaper and easier to construct.
