Abstract:

Motion blur is a sampling artifact introduced by all real cameras. However, most rendering systems model it in only the most basic fashion. Here we present an extension to the standard motion-blur model that, in addition to more accurately matching physical systems, produces images that are technically and aesthetically improved. The new model can easily be incorporated into existing rendering systems without impact on performance.
