Abstract:

Hypoglycaemia is a common condition, which may easily be missed due to the variation in clinical presentation in patients with or without diabetes. The most common cause is related to the treatment of diabetes. Non-diabetes related hypoglycaemia is rare. Nonetheless, the need for careful evaluation of the underlying cause is important as well as relieving symptoms. The diagnosis and investigations involved in management of hypoglycaemia are discussed with a direct relevance to the acute general physician.
