Biography

Dr Luca Manelli is a Lecturer in Forensic Biology at Bournemouth University. Luca is a Forensic Entomologist who completed his doctoral studies at the University of Winchester, with a thesis on the influence of insects on the decomposition of burnt bodies, and on the impact of burning and accelerants on larval development, with a focus on arson crime scenes. Previous research investigated the impact of freshwater arthropods on bodies submerged in freshwater and his expertise expands to Human Taphonomy, Forensic Phycology and Wildlife Crime.
