Michael is a rounded communications and media marketing professional with a broad set of skills including delivering bespoke public relations, using innovative tools, appropriate content, and persuasive writing.
With the overall aim of inculcating civic-mindedness and enhancing empathetic skills as part of global citizenship education, Michael’s PhD thesis examines the connections between emotions, identity and collective action. He also holds an MSc. In Media and Communication from Pan-Atlantic university, where he employed qualitative research to establish Twitter’s efficacy as a perception management tool.
Alongside part-time lecturing (Public Opinion and Persuasion and, Political Marketing and Campaigning units) he is PGR lead for “SustainaWHAT?!” BU’s first doctoral sustainability workshop series – a project which helps PhDs across various fields to achieve prosperity that is green and all-inclusive.
