Biography

Victoria Clay-Harris is a Lecturer in Forensic Genetics in the Department of Life and Environmental Sciences at Bournemouth University.

She is a Forensic DNA Profiler with interests in Forensic Casework, Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) via Bone sampling and Bespoke/ Cold Casework. She completed her MSC in Analytical & Forensic Sciences in 2014 at University of Glamorgan where she focussed research on the environmental factors of cadaver decomposition and their effects on DNA yield.

Victoria has worked within the Forensic Industry at the UK’s leading Forensic Service providers, where she worked on a vast number of Forensic criminal cases during her career. She has also been involved in DVI (Disaster Victim Identification) Laboratory casework both nationally and internationally. In addition to this she has also been involved in the use of newer DNA laboratory techniques as part of cold case reviews.
