Biography

Yuchen is a core member of the Centre for Excellence in Media Practice and the Narrative, Culture and Community Research Centre at Bournemouth University. She completed her MA in Film and Television Directing in 2022 and her PhD in Media Production (Screenwriting) in 2026. Her research primarily focuses on film adaptation based on literature, with particular interest in cross-cultural adaptation. Alongside her research, she works across filmmaking practice as a producer, screenwriter, director, and sound designer. She is also interested in AIGC animation and LEGO stop-motion production.
