Biography

I joined Bournemouth University in September 2023 and I am a Postgraduate Researcher in the Department of Media Production and the Faculty of Media and Communication. Currently, I am being supervised by Dr Evi Karathanasopolou and Dr Julia Round, and my work focuses on the performance of high-status blackness on the early modern stage and in contemporary media. I have written extensively for various online and in-print publications including book and film reviews, and my fiction regularly focuses on supernatural cities and alternative families. I studied BA (Hons) in Drama Production with Film Studies and Creative Writing, where I gained a 1st class and studied the Fantasy writing genre with Dr. Allen Stroud. I won an award for the Highest Overall Mark in Faculty (2008) and completed an MA in Early Modern English Literature: Text and Transmission (2016) at King’s College London.
