Abstract:

Samuel Walker proposes that our experiences of embodiment play an important role in the development of our normative values and that the legal system should adopt an embodied understanding of all individuals. Rethinking current legal paradigms, he challenges the notion that bodies can be understood in isolation from networks of connections and suggests ways that the law can be adjusted to improve its treatment of our bodies.
