Abstract:

In this paper, we develop a complete set of similarity invariant descriptors under the usual Fourier-Mellin transform framework. Because the magnitude and phase spectra are not processed separately, the obtained complete invariant descriptors can be used to recover the image for evaluating these complete invariants. The experimental results indicate that the similarity transform can be effectively eliminated in the reconstructed image while the relative information of the original image can be preserved. Furthermore, through the image reconstruction, the hybrid similarity invariant descriptor can be intuitional and effectively evaluated. © 2005 IEEE.
