Abstract:

This study analyzed the effect of digitalization of business operations on the empowerment of female entrepreneurs in Ghana. The study used a quantitative cross-sectional design to collect data from a convenience sample of 158 female entrepreneurs in Ghana. The results show statistically significant positive effects of digitalization on the respondents’ economic, relational, and personal and psychological empowerment. The findings suggest that digitalization is an important phenomenon for female entrepreneurship since it has become globally vogue, with its multiplying effects. As a result, female entrepreneurs should undergo orientation on the understanding, usage and effective management of digital platforms and services to have positive returns on their investments and business operations. The study is also evidential for business development agencies, including government and international agencies, on the need to offer digital training programs and related assistance for female entrepreneurship development.
