Abstract:

Drawing on research with UK children aged 8–11, this piece argues that children’s public service media is losing its place in the home as viewing shifts to mobile, platform-based environments. Engagement is increasingly routed through schools, while family co-viewing declines. This erodes opportunities for dialogue, guidance and shared understanding, underscoring the need to reintegrate public service media into domestic routines.
