Abstract:This chapter will explore the concept of excellence within Higher Education teaching and learning. It will then introduce the Teaching Excellence self-reflective tool, designed to enhance teaching practice and strive for excellence, developed considering the National Students Survey (NSS) (2023), the updated HEA 2023 Professional Standards Framework from Advance HE, and other benchmarks and criteria to enhance practice and strive for excellence. The chapter will then discuss the importance of inclusive environments for teaching and learning, and will provide an overview of activities that could be considered at every stage of the student experience, and provide suggestions for successful operationalisation.
