Biography

Dr Cindy Cox PhD MSc BSc (Hons) DPCP RGN

Dr Cindy Cox is a Principle Academic Program Lead in CPD (Continuing Professional Development) for Nursing at the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences at Bournemouth University. Prior to this post Cindy was heavily imbedded in clinical practice. Originally as an Enrolled Nurse and finally as a Nurse Consultant in Parkinson’s disease which she did for 23 years. Her PhD complements her clinical expertise in Parkinson’s disease and allied conditions having studies olfaction in Parkinson’s disease which she completed in 2018. However, her knowledge is wide and varied having worked in many different fields of nursing in both primary and secondary care.

Cindy has obviously seen many changes in the 43 years of clinical practice and has been fortunate to be able to execute many original innovative changes herself, such as the first nurse to introduce nurse led clinics and first nurse to complete a PhD at UHD Trust. She has also held prestigious roles alongside the Trust objectives such as the first Non-medical Prescribing Lead and Clinical Governance Lead for Medicine for the Elderly at UHD...
