Abstract:

Invited to exhibit at a screening curated by world leader in screendance, Professor Liz Aggiss for the Screendance Symposium, 2011. This event was an international gathering of artists, curators, researchers and students, hosted by the Centre for Screendance at Brighton University. Speakers included Ann Cooper Albright, Professor of Dance and Theatre at Oberlin College, Catherine Wood, Curator of Contemporary Art and Performance at the Tate Modern, director David Hinton and choreographer Siobhan Davies. Davies discussion included working with live dance in a gallery space. A report of this event was published in Spring 2012 in issue two of the Screendance Journal. The curated evening performance included two films from the ‘Unfairground Ride’ series of films: ‘Angry Rambler’ and ‘Tiago’s Sequence’. An informal discussion about the work followed the screening. The six films shown included work by Catherine Long, Becky Edmunds and Jerome Bel.

Invited to screen works from the 'Unfairground Ride' series of dancefilms. The event was curated by Liz Aggiss. The symposium is an open event - a gathering of artists, curators, researchers and students. Speakers included Catherine Wood, Curator Contemporary Performance at Tate Modern and choreographer Siobhan Davies. This is an international research event, a report of which will be published in the next issue of the Screendance Journal, due Spring 2012.
