Public Service Motivation and Teamwork in Project Management Success

Abstract:The vision 2021 plan of the present Government of Bangladesh underscores the importance of managing the projects for the rural development through project management schemes. This research endeavors to investigate how public service motivated government officials are devoted to enhance the effective teamwork for project success. The authors use data from a survey of members of the Bangladeshi government at local level that works on project management in rural areas. The authors found that while public service motivation (PSM) can improve project management success, more research is needed to understand how PSM can be utilized to enhance teamwork. This paper assists scholars and practitioners in understanding how PSM can be utilized by project management teams to identify ideal candidates to join special government projects.
